Meet the old Tanya:
We celebrated Christmas Eve 2011 in the afternoon. We were having such a good time, opening presents and hugging each other. I was taking pictures of the family happily enjoying the day. Then came the DAWN. Little did I know my youngest son had taken some pictures too. Facebook, geeze, they were on Facebook. Trying to focus through tears, I stared at the frumpy chunky lady in yellow, me. Yikes, was that me??? Obviously I had been in denial for a long time. I had such a reality check, I thought OMG I've got to do something about this weight. I got on the scale and couldn't believe I was 175 lbs.
Luckily for me, my friend, Sandra had been doing this Paleo way of eating and just raved about how easy it was and that she had lost 30 lbs. effortlessly. She loaned me her books and promised I'd love it. She was sooooooooo right!!!
January 1, 2012 I was ready. I had my plan and was so ready to lose weight. Little did I know that this was not a quick fix, but a way of life. I have to hand it to Mark Sisson, his site was my partner in this awakening. I have learned so much from him. The Paleo/Primal community is amazing. The resources at my fingertips were and are lifesavers. A breakdown of weight loss by the month goes, Jan. lost 13, Feb. lost 7.5, Mar. lost 6.5, April lost 5, May lost 3, June lost 6 and so far I'm maintaining or resting as I call it at 134. My golf game sure has improved, along with my cholesterol -- total cholesterol = 133, HDL =50, LDL = 74, Trig = 46, yippee!! My doctor has taken me off Crestor for 8 weeks to see if I can go off it for good.
I feel really good at last. My oldest son just recently got married and pictures were taken. My, what a difference a few months make.
