I found a personal trainer who was a major supporter of the Paleo lifestyle. I decided to give it a go, 18 months later sticking to Paleo 100% and exercising 7 days a week, I lost 60kgs (132 lbs) in 9 months and have maintained that loss for 12 months. I have reversed type 2 diabetes, my cholesterol and triglycerides are perfect, I am no longer taking blood pressure medication and am fitter, faster and stronger than every before. Paleo has changed my life.
What was the biggest challenge to adopting a carbohydrate-restricted or paleo diet?
For me it was the fact that I needed to eat more and the frequency of eating increased. Mentally that is a challenge when you start eating more food to lose weight.
What advice (if any) would you give to someone interested in trying a carbohydrate-restricted or paleo diet? Were there any obstacles that you overcame that could help future dieters?
Be open to trying new things , be aware that you may feel a little off during the transition as your body detoxes , but the energy increase you get is so worth it!
