EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Aglaée obtained her Bachelor’s and Master’s in Nutrition from Laval University in Québec City, Canada in 2005 and 2007. After working as a Registered Dietitian and Certified Diabetes Educator for several years, in various locations such as gyms, governmental agencies and a community diabetes education program, she realized she wanted to spend some time traveling before planting roots in one location.
Aglaée headed to South America and was the first dietitian volunteering in Puerto Ayora, Galápagos, Ecuador, where obesity and type 2 diabetes are on the rise. This traveling experience opened her mind and allowed her to start listening to various nutrition- and health-related podcasts during her long bus trips. She even took an online workshop from Mat Lalonde on a 24-hour bus ride between Guayaquil and Lima. At one point, she just couldn’t dismiss all of the evidence against low-fat diets and whole grains anymore. In 2010, she adopted a low-carb diet and, a few months later, started playing with the principles of the Paleo diet and hasn’t looked back since.

If you choose the diet assessment, Aglaée will look at your food journal on PhotoCalorie and analyse it to provide personalized recommendations in line with your own goals, whether you are trying to lose weight, regulate your blood sugar levels or manage digestive issues. Maybe your serving sizes need to be adjusted? Perhaps you need more fat, carbs or protein? Or less? Or maybe you could benefit from timing your meals differently?
